Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar for caramel
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt sugar until golden. Pour into a round baking dish, tilting to coat the bottom evenly. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth. Pour over caramelized sugar in the baking dish.
  4. Place the baking dish in a larger pan filled with 1 inch of hot water. Bake in preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until set.
  5. Let cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours. To serve, run a knife around the edges and invert onto a plate.
