Patty Melt Recipe
A classic patty melt with caramelized onions, melted cheese, and a juicy beef patty, all sandwiched between slices of toasted rye bread.

- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 Onion sliced
- 8 slices Rye Bread
- 4 slices Swiss Cheese
- 4 tablespoon Butter softened
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black Pepper
1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
2. Form ground beef into 4 patties. Season with salt and pepper.
3. In the same skillet, cook the beef patties over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove from skillet.
4. Butter one side of each slice of rye bread. Place 4 slices, buttered side down, in the skillet.
5. Top each slice with a beef patty, caramelized onions, and a slice of Swiss cheese. Top with remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
6. Cook sandwiches over medium heat until bread is toasted and cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
7. Serve hot and enjoy!
