Ingredients 

Pastry

  • 500 g plain flour
  • 250 g butter cold and diced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoon cold water

Filling

  • 300 g beef skirt steak diced
  • 300 g potatoes peeled and diced
  • 150 g swede peeled and diced
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 egg beaten, for glazing

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add water and mix to form a dough. Wrap in cling film and chill for 30 minutes.
  3. Roll out the pastry and cut into 4 circles. In another bowl, mix beef, potatoes, swede, onion, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place filling in the center of each pastry circle. Fold over and crimp the edges to seal. Place on a baking tray and brush with beaten egg.
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes until golden brown. Serve hot.
