Ingredients

  • 1 lb Dried Beans any variety
  • 1 lb Ham diced
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 6 cups Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper to taste

Instructions 

  1. 1. Rinse and sort the beans. Soak them overnight or use the quick soak method.
  2. 2. In a large pot, add the soaked beans, ham, onion, garlic, and water. Bring to a boil.
  3. 3. Reduce heat and simmer for about 2 hours, or until beans are tender.
  4. 4. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve warm.
