Ingredients

  • 3 cups Milk
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • cup All-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • 3 Egg yolks beaten
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 4 Bananas sliced
  • 1 box Vanilla wafers

Instructions 

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, flour, and salt. Gradually stir in milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thickened and bubbly.
  2. Reduce heat to low and cook for 2 more minutes. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir a small amount of the hot mixture into the beaten egg yolks, then return to the saucepan. Cook for 2 more minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
  4. Layer sliced bananas and vanilla wafers in a serving dish. Pour the pudding mixture over the layers. Repeat layers, ending with pudding.
  5. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
